ストックしているホテル。

素材にこだわるばかりに納期も予算も大幅に

オーバーして完成したホテル。

その拘りが功を奏し完成間も無く関東大震災に

見舞われるも倒壊せず

先の大戦での関東大空襲をも

耐えぬいたホテル。

日本でフランクロイドライトといえば

帝国ホテルである。

ル・コルビュジェの造った国立西洋美術館が

世界文化遺産に登録されたらしい。

残念ながら近代建築の三大巨匠では

フランクロイドライトだけが残った。

しかし派手な世界の記録よりも

日本人にも通ずる血の通った彼の仕事は

我々の記憶に残っている。

そこに掛け違えは無い。
